Hosting
If you have an interest in hosting a Ukrainian family and you live Northern Ireland or Great Britain you can register on this website.
We know many people have already signed up on the UK Government website or through another organisation to register an interest in being a host family– there is no problem registering in more than one place. We have helped many Ukrainians to come to the UK and currently have more Ukrainians seeking refuge than we have safe homes to offer. We will do all we can to help you find a suitable match but if it transpires that hosting is not for you there are many other ways you can support Ukrainian refugees.
Starfish is a voluntary organisation helping to match Ukrainians with hosts. Whilst we have gained much knowledge and are happy to help as much as possible, hosts must understand that they are entering into the Government 'Homes for Ukraine' scheme and must be happy with being part of the scheme. Please read the government website to ensure you are content to proceed; Homes for Ukraine: sponsor guidance - GOV.UK (www.gov.uk)
Usually we do not have personal knowledge of the Ukrainians seeking refuge. Some will be contacts of those already here, others have contacted us via our website and therefore we cannot give assurance of their character. Hosts should seek to gain as much knowledge as possible through their initial contacts, which we facilitate. This process is extensive and hosts will be guided by one of our volunteers. Hosts should only proceed when/if they are happy to do so. We will not pressurise hosts into a match that they feel is not suitable.
By filling in the form you are showing that you agree to start to explore the hosting process with the help of our team.
Thank you so much for your interest.
